The recovery rate is still a sign of good news with about 30% and climbing. Meanwhile, I just read news on BBC Africa quoting an Ethiopian physician/health offIcial about a recovery of a 114 yr old man. That makes him the oldest person in the world to beat the tar out of the virus. 114 years would also make him the 2nd or the 3rd oldest person alive. I don’t know about that. It means that he was a 12 year young boy during the 1918 deadly pandemic. I hope that well read physician had done his homework before he spoke to the BBC. We all remember strange stories of ‘records’ blowing out of Africa before. We all remember the story of a 165 year old person found there a few years ago. How about a story of a young girl who was protected by a pride of hungry lionesses all day and night long many years ago? And a story told by some crack heads about a tradition medicine that heals the COVID-19 a few months ago? I am not saying 114 is not possible but in a country where birth certificate had been non existent and no health care system to talk about, I hope that physician had done his due diligence before rushing to the media to tell about it But I am very very happy for that elderly man for beating the deadly virus.
