Toronto – The Ethiopian Airlines on Wednesday announced reinstatement of flight to Port Sudan effective today.

In a brief statement it shared on its social media page it said :

“Ethiopian Airlines is delighted to announce the reinstatement of its flight to Port Sudan, Sudan. Starting from today, 15 October 2025, Ethiopian will operate a daily flight to Port Sudan (PZU) and increase its frequency to double daily starting from November 1st, 2025.”

Initially, It was in October 2024 that Ethiopian Airlines announced daily flights to Port Sudan.  This route was initiated as part of strategic expansion to “enhancing connectivity across the African continent.”

The flight was suspended due to security concerns in connection with the civil war in the country.

Notably, the route was opened after Ethiopian Airlines  suspended flights to Asmara complaining about difficult operational conditions in Asmara.

Ethiopian Airlines generated over $7.6 billion in revenue during last fiscal year and carried over 19 million passengers during the year.
