Yes alarming but with a few bright spots to hope for. The number of patients in serious condition is not surging which is a good sign. It is the new variant and in my mind there is no question about it. Next door Kenya is being pummeled too. Meanwhile the numbers are very alarming here in the USA, Canada, Europe and even in Australia. All the bad numbers are skyrocketing and the good numbers are not impressive either. It is there in these regions that the virus may refuse to leave. It has a good chunk of politically deafened population who vowed to never touch existing or future vaccines. The virus will continue to replicate and mutate among these diehards and if the most lethal variant feared by scientists emerges in the future it will be among the unvaccinated. Among these diehards there are also those who refuse to wear masks. You see them everywhere these days. They think they are so tough and ‘heroes’. Take care of yourself y’all!!!
