Addis Ababa – The U.S. Embassy in Ethiopia, in collaboration with the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences, successfully concluded a dynamic two-day workshop on Educational Leadership and Change Management at the Hilton Hotel, June 25–26. The event convened university presidents, vice presidents, and academic leaders from 16 of Ethiopia’s leading universities of research and applied sciences, aiming to strengthen leadership capabilities and advance transformative initiatives across the nation’s higher education sector.
The workshop was led by Dr. Ricardo Lozano, a distinguished Fulbright Specialist and professor of educational leadership at Texas A&M International University, alongside Professor Nasser Bogale, Fulbright Scholar and professor at Thaddeus
Stevens College of Technology in Pennsylvania. Through interactive sessions, participants acquired practical tools and strategies for driving effective institutional change, exchanged best practices, and fostered greater collaboration among Ethiopia’s higher education leaders.
This initiative marks a significant milestone in the U.S. Embassy’s ongoing commitment to supporting higher education in Ethiopia, particularly as universities transition toward autonomous governance. Both the U.S. Embassy and the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences remain dedicated to empowering Ethiopia’s academic leaders to champion innovation and drive positive transformation throughout the country’s educational landscape.
Distinguished keynote speakers included Ryan Bradeen, Acting Counsellor for Public Diplomacy at the U.S. Embassy; H.E. Kora Tushune, State Minister at the Ministry of Education; and Dr. Berhanemeskel Tena, President of Kotebe University of Education, each of whom underscored the importance of strong leadership and international collaboration in shaping the future of Ethiopian higher education.

America has been at ‘top of the class’ since say 1948…it ain’t so no more, many studies show America is slowly becoming middle-of-the-road, or worse approaching ‘last-of-the-class…’ ( Biden 78th /84 law school politics saved the day/years/decades & presidency (“only in America”, Don king ) )
Chinese have taken ‘top-of-the-class’ 10 out of 20 top universities are Chinese NOW. (shown in the link below)
Associating with American universities now is like studying with the ‘last-of-the-class’ (old glory gone) so the smartest move is to ‘take the money & run’ ( they are getting poorer too (-$37 trillion) , so the money is going to be short-lived…
So, if you want to stay relevant, studying with ‘top-of-the-class’ in this case China is the best bet, because it is where the FUTURE is going to be written, read, & implemented…
Language is not going to be a barrier any more, the Chinese came up with a GAME CHANGER device as small as a match-box that translates conversations in any language instantly (as you speak) therefore, it is as easy as 1,2,3 …

Well, someone (American Tucker’s Mind/AI pretend (as Tucker Carson)) argues ‘top-of-the-calls’ is India that produced CEOs of major US tech companies not China with #2 Economy, DEEPSEEK, Huawei, own Tiangong-Space-station, Mars-rover (Zhurong)…etc. well, you be the judge.
But the flip-side of this argument confirms my original claim, that the US education system is no longer what it used to be. ( “Takin’ Over” !)
