Toronto – Somalia’s president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Saturday arrived at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa. He was greeted by Temesgen Tiruneh, Deputy Prime Minister, upon arrival.
This is for the second time within six months. This time he is in the country to attend the United Nations Food Systems Summit.
Several other African leaders, including Kenyan President William Ruto, have arrived in Addis for the Submit.
Hassen Sheik and his delegation met with Abiy Ahmed at the Jubilee Palace hours after his arrival in the country. Hower, details of the talk are undisclosed.
Ethiopia and Somalia had a tense relation throughout 2024 to the point that fears of military conflict ( which was expected to involve Egypt) was speculated.
The conflict ended, which was over the MoU Ethiopia with Somaliland In January 2024, after Turkish mediation secured the Ankara Declaration in December 2024.
