Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Siinqee Bank is sharing its success story in advancing women’s access to finance and promoting financial inclusion at the 6th COMFWB Trade Fair & Conference, a key event that brought together over 240 women entrepreneurs and leaders from across the COMESA region.
Speaking at the event, Siinqee Bank President Neway Megersa underscored the institution’s strong commitment to women’s empowerment. “We’re proud to offer innovative and tailored financial products, digital financing solutions, and financial literacy programs that specifically support women and youth,” he said.
Neway revealed that in the past year alone, the bank has extended financing to more than 300,000 customers—most of whom are women and young people. “This is not just banking, it’s creating real opportunities for women to thrive economically,” he added.
As part of its ongoing efforts, Sinqe Bank has also entered into a partnership with COMESA and the COMFWB to further expand access to finance and deepen financial inclusion across the region.
The 6th COMFWB Trade Fair & Conference, held in Addis Ababa from May 7–9, 2025, highlighted financial inclusion for women entrepreneurs in the COMESA region, with a focus on regional integration, green investments, value chains, tourism, and mining. Over 400 participants attended, aiming to connect women-led businesses, foster networking, and showcase innovation.
