TORONTO, Canada — Asres Mare Damtie, public relation head of Amhara Fano National Movement (AFNM), remarked on recent developments in the region and Fano’s alliance with other forces.
The Ethiopian Defense Force this week made claims that it inflicted heavy losses on” the extremist group”, as it calls fano, in the offensive in the Dega Damot area. Detailed information on the casualties was not provided.
Asres Mare Damtie confirmed the extensive nature of the offensive while rejecting Defense force claims on the outcome. “When we gain a military victory we release video footage and pictures. Why is the defense force not doing so if it has indeed achieved victory?” he questions.
He also remarked on the alliance Fano is making with other forces. He is of the view that the ruling party will be finished off when the project is implemented.
