Toronto – Likina Amebaw, a rising Ethiopian elite athlete, won Women’s 5000 meters at the Rome Diamond League (Golden Gala)meters race this week, clocking a world-leading and personal-best time.
The rest of the top positions until the 5th rank were dominated by Ethiopian Athletes as well.
Likina Amebaw clocked 14:18.41 when she crossed the finishing line.
Aleshign Baweke was away from her only by 13 microseconds. She clocked 14:18.94 to finish second.
Freweyni Hailu, another prominent Ethiopian athlete, finished third in a personal best time 14:22.37
Senayet Getachew and Medina Eisa, also Ethiopian Athletes, finished fourth and fifth in 14:22.37 and 14:22.51 minutes respectively.
