When we were kids, almost all spy and action movies of the Cold War era we had watched from Connery’s ‘From Russia with Love’ to Stallone’s First Blood III’ are concluded with simplistic predictable endings. Eventually Russia is humiliated and thrashed while the indomitable Western characters come back home with valuable booties to a hero’s welcome.
Sure enough, the West won the cold war and the cliché themes were indeed validated. However, there is another genre of movies we are neglecting- movies about the Great Patriotic War and its derivative post WWII films by the Russians. The Pushkin Center around Cathedral used to screen some- a few with subtitles but for the most part without. Naturally the Russians tend to beat the hell out of the blood sucking imperialist powers with hammer and sickles. See? It isn’t a wrap up yet. A Bond movie From Russia with Love might as well get an ironic sequel to the tune of ‘From Russia with Oreshnik’.
I sure loved the pandemonium Oreshnik had created in the West. NATO summons an emergency meeting; the fresh Nordic members of the alliance publish bulletins preparing their respective citizens to an impending world war; Keir Starmer and Macron are scared of being left alone; the World Class Clown Zelensky says Putin is terrified only to be called such mean names and rude expletives by Joe Rogan in sheer disgust; Republicans are demanding to impeach Biden for going counter to the will of the American public; knowing Putin as well as she does ,Angela Merkel says bad peace is better than any war.
They have reason to panic. The missile travels ten times the speed of sound and they know that Putin meant it when he said no weapon could intercept it. I mean in just under 18 minutes it could set London and Paris on fire and hit the Eastern Coast of the United States within 30 minutes. I don’t even fully comprehend the reason why most Africans are rooting for Russia while being grateful to the West for all the ‘education and aid’. But one thing is for sure the celebratory vibe is not concealable. Even mainstream media and local language Western news outlets were unable to resist the temptation and they were visibly carried away by the euphoria.
Makes me wonder, perhaps God does love Russia, the more I think about this war between Russia and NATO, increasingly it looks like the quintessential David versus Goliath show down. Who knows maybe God isn’t on the side of the strongest battalion as Napoleon had said.
Think about it- though it stretches across 11 time zones from Kaliningrad in the West to the Bering Sea in the East and shares a border with 14 countries from Europe to Asia and the Eastern Pacific coast , Russia’s aging population is just under 150 million including 6 million seasonal migrant workers from former Soviet Republics.
The combined population of NATO Countries is close to 1 billion. At 45.9 trillion dollars the combined economy of NATO Countries accounts for half the global GDP. Russia’s GDP is a little more than 2 trillion dollars and it has just joined the exclusive club of high income countries in 2024. Mark the irony here; this is a country at war with the West, slapped with 22,000 sanctions in a globalized 21th century economy and against all odds for the first time in its history it has officially become a high income country while waging unprecedented war against the hawkish rabidly liberal West.
The liberal media has been telling us for years and years that Russia is just Saudi Arabia with trees and nukes. Take the nuke and the birch tree away and it would become a wasteland surviving on gas and oil, we have been led to believe. But when reports are being filed that Russian farmers are switching from wheat farming to more profitable crops such as sunflowers and lentils, the liberal media wouldn’t hesitate to protest alleging that as the top global wheat exporter Russia is doing this deliberately to disrupt global food security. Come again, Russia is the world’s top wheat exporter? We assumed it was a net importer being a wasteland and all, one would wonder.
The way they depict the war in the Ukraine, they assume the world is unaware of the Coup in 2014 which had effectively started the war ball rolling; they try to whitewash the fact that before they voted to be incorporated in to Russia, the Donbas People’s Republic were fighting against the Ukraine protesting the ‘cancel Russian culture’ tirade ; the liberal media wants us to forget that Russia was actually spurning their quest for Independence while advising the Ukraine to respect the rights of the people of Donbas by giving them a little autonomy within the Ukraine; the West assumes that the rest of the world is not knowledgeable enough to understand America’s Monroe doctrine and that Russia isn’t doing any different.
The thing is one has to triple check every single report about Russia coming from the toxic liberal media. You can at least depend on reports from outlets such as Reuters albeit the prejudices but the likes of The Independent and CNN are fakes wrapped in calumny inside a lie.
Guess what? Donald Trump was vindicated. He won in flying colors in the face of the fake news establishments and it was indeed some kind of poetic justice. As they say in the wake of an election, the American people have spoken and it has spewed out the liberal God mocking freaks. I am sure the 2024 election result will go down in history more as an overwhelming protest vote against the lefties than a vote for Trump. Trump’s gut instinct must have strongly signaled to him that the American public across the whole racial spectrum would do anything to kick out war mongering, Putin bashing, Wokeism, DEI or CRT. They just needed someone brave enough not to be intimidated by the combined diabolical power of Hollywood and the Military Industrial complex. Coming to think of it, the Oreshnik from Russia might actually be a solidarity salvo for Republican voters while being a warning to the rabid liberal camp.
As per the findings of think tanks like Pew non white ethnic and racial voters were supposed to lean Democratic as in almost all previous elections, however, according to Al Jazeera Trump had doubled the support he had gotten from the black community compared to 2020. In other words in 2024 blacks voted in great number against a Black, Female candidate than they did for a male WASP (White Anglo-Saxon Protest) Republican candidate back in 2020. Obviously they wouldn’t fall for fads like CRT. They are re-coursing to their traditional family roots and they have voted with the purpose of the 175 billion dollar the Biden administration is recklessly expending to finance the war in the Ukraine while hunger in the United States stands at a record 47 million according to the records of the charity ‘Feeding America’.
No wonder, these days, fiery young black conservatives like Candace Owens appeal to the younger generation much more than Oprah did at the height of her popularity. Apparently, in the third decade of the third millennium, Oprah’s endorsement amounts to little. The black community is increasingly voting Republican. It has eventually figured out that all the critical racial theory or diversity, equality and inclusivism are veneers that camouflage sinister hidden agenda for liberal world dominance.
