Toronto – Fano forces are undertaking an internal evaluation – apparently in response to possible infiltration from the government following the “surrender” of Masresha Setie – who used to be one of the Fano leaders in Gojjam.
Menelik Command of East Amhara Zone this week announced structural changes which came after well over a week of leadership meetings.
Fano forces in Gondar are also undertaking similar evaluative meetings. This one is much longer. Yohannes Nigussu, from Amhara Fano National Front (AFNF), told Anchor Media that the Belay Zeleke Division is in a 45 day long internal evolution meeting. One of the goals is to filter out government agents.
Meanwhile, the Fano leader disclosed that military operations were not suspended. He claimed that over 215 government forces were killed over the past seven days and 80 others wounded in Metema district- where the Defense force claimed a significant military gain.
