Toronto – Ethiopia’s National Security Council – a highest body organized under the Abiy Ahmed Administration amid a pervasive security crisis – on Wednesday released a statement after holding a meeting to assess internal security, economic and political situation in the country as well as development in the region.
It claimed to have made progress in attaining peace. But it also accused groups – whose names it did not specify – for obstructing the path to “prosperity” and disturbing peace in the country.
However, the government itself has been linked to a great extent to the problem in the country. Opposition parties, like the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Party (EPRP), see the latest statement from the council as a preparation to frame those engaged in peaceful struggle for attack.
The statement from the council which was aired on state owned media, EBC, is featured below. Take a listen and share your views in the comment section.
