Toronto – Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed had a meeting with health professionals as the strike for a livable salary continues across the country. It is unclear how the representatives were selected.
Abiy Ahmed tends to see a political hand in the doctor’s movement for a livable wage. He also made accusations that there are health professionals who are behind the breakdown of equipment so as to direct patients to the private clinic.
The discussion is organized in a way that the participants could not refute the accusation based on what is aired via state owned media outlets. Many of the speakers were seen hailing his government for “change” in developing the country.
As to the salary adjustment, he insinuated it can not be done at this point. He told them to be patient about it and drive satisfaction from the “healing of patients.”
