Ethiopian PM Accuses the Business Community of Arming Rebel Groups

Borkena

Toronto – In his latest meeting with members of the business community from across Ethiopia, PM Abiy Ahmed responded to grievances including corruption and issues related to policy frameworks that are said to be hampering the activities of businesses.

However, the Prime Minister himself accused the business community of arming rebel groups – without naming the names of the groups. He thinks 60 percent of the conflict in the country is fueled by the business communities. No clear evidence presented.

Currently, there are ongoing conflicts in the Amhara and Oromia regions of Ethiopia. Another conflict is speculated to break out soon in the Tigray region of Ethiopia as the Tigray People’s Liberation Front under Debretsion Gebremichael is allegedly working with Eritrea to start a conflict.
