Toronto – The House of People’s Representative on Tuesday announced that it has approved a draft to amend Ethiopian Aviation Security.
Fetehi Mahdi, chairperson of Foreign Relation and Peace Standing Committee, said the draft amendment will overcome security concerns where it will be implemented including technological ones.
Illegal interference in the air transport and its growing complexity from time to time necessitated the amendment, according to the Ethiopian parliament.
The amendment is based on “International aviation standards and requirements.” The chairperson sees it as one that fosters better aviation security and ensures the continuity of a good image of the country in the sector.
The legislation will provide Ethiopian Airlines, it was said, an up to date legal framework to provide secured and technologically supported aviation service to the international community.
The legislation before the amendment served for over 20 years.
The news update from the parliament did not specify if there was any “no” vote.
