Toronto – Dire Dawa police on Monday announced that it has killed “43 gunmen” whom it labelled as members of the “Shane.”

Police said the group has been hiding in the Dire Dawa area and its surroundings.
East Ethiopia Joint Security Task Force, a government body, is quoted as saying “43 members including leaders who have been operating in Dire Dawa, Somali region and East Hararghe adjacent areas since Meskerem 19 [September 29] are entirely annihilated.”
The task force is said to have a membership of seven security substructures in East Ethiopia. It said it had been undertaking a special operation since September, and “rounded the group and took measures,” it was said.
It is Dire Dawa Police Headquarter Chief Commander Commissioner Alemu Mugra who gave the press statement on behalf of the Task forces.
Apart from the killings, the taskforce claimed 68 AK 47, A GM3, 8 hand grenades, and several ammunition along with 34 suspects were seized.
Dire Dawa Government Communication Affairs Bureau has shared a picture of captured OLA members, as it alleges, and seized firearms.
The task force alleges that the armed group crossed Hararge through Erer and Hurso (there is a military training facility in this town) and was hiding in the rural areas surrounding Dire Dawa city – a city state.
The Commissioner added that the primary goal of the group was undertaking attacks on infrastructure, industries and inciting ethnic violence.
The Oromo Liberation Army has not remarked about the Dire Dawa operation at the time of this writing.
The group extensively operates across the Oromia region of Ethiopia and has been linked to the killings of civilians and kidnappings in the region. However, the armed group denies targeting civilians.
As well, the group has assassinated many security and government officials in different parts of the region.
Negotiation with the Federal government, which was organized in Tanzania in 2024, failed after three rounds.

I demand the release of all these POWs and deported to Minnesota and the regime should pay for their first class flight tickets. Once they arrive here safely, they will apply for political asylum. They will have adoring fans in Minnesota, Toronto, Oslo, Seattle and Down Under. It was reported that these prisoners had killed innocent civilians. So what! Big deal! Right, Minnesota?
