Toronto – A wildfire is reported in the Wondo district of West Arsi, Oromia region of Ethiopia. State media outlet cited government officials from the region to report that the fire started on Saturday around 4:00 p.m. local time.

Gotu Aloma kebele, Abaro mountain is severely affected. Pictures shared by government communication on social media shows a wildfire consuming a forest in a mountainous area.
It is also reported that effort is underway to put out the fire.
The cause of the fire is said to be drought related according to local sources. However, it is unclear if there was an investigation to determine the causes of it.
Government officials in the zone have reportedly called on people to help extinguish the fire before it spread to the other areas.
