Toronto – Prosperity Party government officials this week retreated to Wenchi for a 100 days of performance evaluation meeting.
It has made claims that farmers income is growing, green legacy first coverage has reached 23.6 percent while social conservation work is underway, “Green jobs” created and internet accessibility and online service has expanded – among others.
As has always been the case, the data government projects are not verified by independent entities and access to information is still non-existent despite recent parliamentary legislation.
Despite the claims, economic hardship in the country is reportedly worsening. Growing unemployment and unbearable cost of living are among the manifestations of it.
In what appears to be an effort to glorify its claims, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed made what many observers say is a derogatory remark to his critics (those in the opposition and activists – among others.” He said “we leave the caw to the crow and we fly higher like an eagle.”
Not his first time to demean opposition.
