From Hope to Horror: Taye Dendea’s Testimony on the Curse of Abiy Ahmed

Ethiopia, a country rich in history and resilience, has endured a tumultuous path shaped by cycles of glory and suffering. It has known emperors and revolutionaries, ethnic conflict and heroic resistance, droughts, and renaissance. War has scarred its lands and disfigured its people more times than history can count. And through it all, Ethiopia has had its fair share of flawed leadership – some weak, some cruel, others plainly inadequate. But none, as many now argue, comes close to the devastating failure that is Abiy Ahmed.

To many Ethiopians, this is not just political failure; it feels like divine punishment. The Bible warns in Isaiah 3:4: “I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.” When a people go astray, the scripture says, they are handed over to rulers who reflect their worst sins. In that light, Abiy Ahmed is more than just a man in office – he is a mirror of collective failure and a consequence of a nation’s silence, division, and misplaced hope.

Taye Dendea: The Whistleblower from Within

We often rely on public suspicion, fragmented reports, or international observers to judge a leader. But nothing strikes harder than truth told from the inside. Taye Dendea – a man known for his principles and courage – recently broke ranks and shared a blistering testimony of betrayal, exposing the rot at the heart of Ethiopia’s leadership.

According to Dendea, Abiy Ahmed did not simply stumble into war – he engineered it. The war in Tigray, which claimed hundreds of thousands of lives, was not a last resort; it was a premeditated purge of Tigrayan officers from the military. But the horror did not stop there. Abiy is said to have allowed TPLF forces to push deep into Amhara territory – not due to military defeat, but by design.

Strategic towns like Dessie and Woldia were, according to Taye, intentionally left to fall. A prior plan, agreed upon by senior leaders including Deputy PM Demeke Mekonnen, to defend these cities was reversed by Abiy himself. Why? So that the Amhara region would be battered and demoralized.

Even worse, Taye alleges that Abiy has continually allowed – and in some cases, stirred – ethnic violence, particularly massacres targeting the Amhara population. The pattern is too obvious to ignore keep a region in war, let its people starve, keep its youth uneducated, and rule over the ruins.

The Anatomy of a Cruel and Incompetent Ruler

Abiy Ahmed’s failures are not born of ignorance. They come from a dangerous mix of ego, paranoia, and cruelty. Ethiopia under his rule is not chaotic by accident – it is being torn apart methodically. Taye Dendea’s revelations paint a portrait of a leader who:

  • Orchestrates ethnic conflict to divide and weaken opposition.
  • Silences, jails, or sidelines national figures who dare to speak truth.
  • Rewards sycophancy over merit, surrounding himself with loyalists rather than patriots.
  • Uses theatrics, lies, and manipulation to maintain power while real governance collapses.

There is no serious reform, no inclusive dialogue, and certainly no shared vision for Ethiopia. What remains is a crumbling nation ruled by a man addicted to control and incapable of compassion. Under his gaze, Ethiopia is bleeding – its soul fragmented by mistrust, its future clouded by fear.

A Nation’s Lament and a Cry for Redemption

And so, the question echoes across villages, cities, and diaspora circles: “Oh God, what did we do to deserve this?” Was it our silence when others were wronged? Our tribal pride that blinded us to shared suffering? Our readiness to cheer empty slogans while truth lay buried?

In Abiy Ahmed, Ethiopia is not just enduring a political crisis – it is experiencing a spiritual reckoning. His leadership is not simply a misstep; it is a curse that has turned brother against brother, left children without schools, and emptied homes with war.

But every curse, like every storm, can pass. Taye Dendea’s voice is a wake-up call. It urges us to reflect, repent, and reclaim the country from those who prey on its wounds. Ethiopia’s redemption will not come from silence, but from truth, courage, and unity.

Until then, we say with heavy hearts:

Oh God, how deep our sins must be for You to give us Abiy Ahmed.
Have mercy on Ethiopia. Let this nightmare end.

  1. Where was he for years to expose him? I have no doubt that all Amhara nationalist activist knew the fact unequivocally ” The War in Tigray masterminded by Woyne itself ” .This is silly propaganda, you lose credibility. Citing a religion’s prophesy for a nation suffering from internal civil war is a political illiteracy manfised by self frustration.
