Nairobi, Borkena — Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Addis Ababa yesterday for talks with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
This visit marks the fourth meeting between the two leaders in the past six months, following the rapidly growing bilateral relations between the two countries.
According to a statement from the Somali President’s office, President Hassan Sheikh and his accompanying delegation were received upon arrival in the Ethiopian capital.
The visit is aimed at strengthening diplomatic relations and strategic cooperation, and the discussions are expected to focus primarily on regional security, stability, and the shared interests of Somalia and Ethiopia.
As outlined by the Somali President’s office, the agenda has been set for President Hassan Sheikh and Prime Minister Abiy to discuss enhancing cooperation on security, economic development, and broader Horn of Africa issues.
This new meeting comes in the wake of a series of high-level engagements between the two leaders. It is to be recalled that last March, President Hassan Sheikh, Prime Minister Abiy, and Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh held a tripartite summit in Djibouti focused on peace, security, and regional cooperation in the Horn of Africa.

Let’s hope and pray that our dear Somali brothers and sisters in Somalia will be able to sort out the issues they are facing amicably so they can live in perpetual peace.
Dear Editors,
Amidst all these depressing news we hear and read coming out of our old country and Africa, there has been something happening at the World Cup to lighten us up. Nine African national teams have made it the knockout group of 32. That wasn’t all. Tonight Morocco had knocked out the mighty Netherlands in a thrilling game that was decided by penalty kicks. All this achievement did not come as a charity by a united hard work and skillful determination. Let’s hope the remaining 7 will do the same and move forward to the group of 16 then all the way to the final. They can do it.
Just something as a comfort food.
Finally, Somalia is looking forward to work with parent country Ethiopia.
Somalia without Ethiopian support is a gang playground. Ethiopia protected Somalia almost 20 years now….
One thing i learned so much is that, when you are weaker or softer no one take you seriously, especially as a leader. I remember President Hassan walked away while the Ethiopian national Anthem is singing. He tried to look a dangerous teg at the time due to Somaliland dispute. Fast forward, our incredible leader showed how not to mess with Ethiopia and now President Hassen visits Ethiopia almost every Month. Thank you Dr Abiy, i know you will be more than successful in restoring and facelifting our beloved country.
