On July 11, just a mere 7 days ago, we saw a story with a blinding headline that goes ‘Ethiopia-Somalia Deal Falters , Somalia Reportedly Renews Alliance with Egypt and Eritrea’. First of all the alliance Somalia has with Egypt and Eritrea was never officially discontinued. We also should never deny the hard truth that Somalia is an internationally recognized sovereign nation and it can form an alliance with any country it wishes. This mid-term review proves the fact that the headline on July 11. 2025 was a total fabrication, chicken-scratched by a lost soul day dreamer, possibly lounging in Piccola Roma or Al-Qahirah.
Our peace mongering and harmonious Somali brothers and sisters in their majority in Somalia know very well that they are the largest kin and kit to Ethiopian Somalis. No other country neighboring Ethiopia can claim that. About 6 million Ethiopian Somalis have close to 18 million cousins just across Beg Bered and Caabudwaaq. Both groups of Somalis are determined to live in peace where they are now with the current internationally recognized arrangements. It just happens to be that their cousins in Ethiopia along with more than 130 million peace mongering and harmonious neighbors need a breathing room at a sea outlet.
