Toronto – On Thursday, Taye Atske Selassie, Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, addressed the developing situation in Somalia during a press briefing with local and foreign journalists. He described collaboration with what he called hostile forces as “shortsighted and counterproductive,” alluding to the Somali government’s arrangement to deploy 10,000 Egyptian troops in the country.
Mr. Taye further explained that the core objective of Ethiopia’s foreign policy is to strengthen relations with its neighbors. However, it is now public knowledge that relations with Somalia and Eritrea are not on good terms. While the specific reasons behind the deteriorating relationship with Eritrea remain unclear—aside from Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s claims about accessing the Red Sea—the tension with Somalia has escalated due to alleged “violations of sovereignty” following a memorandum of understanding with Somaliland.
Turkey has initiated mediation efforts between Ethiopia and Somalia. The first indirect talks took place in Ankara in July, with the second round initially scheduled for September. However, Somalia apparently changed stance about the timing, leading the Turkish Foreign Minister to visit Addis Ababa to address the issue.
The second round of talks occurred earlier this month in Ankara, with a third round planned for early September. Despite these efforts, the Somali government in Mogadishu canceled the scheduled talks and instead opted to sign a military pact with Egypt, permitting the deployment of Egyptian troops in Somalia.
Ethiopia views the deployment of Egyptian forces in Somalia as a national security threat and has stated that it cannot remain idle in the face of these developments. On Thursday, Ethiopia’s new Ambassador to Somaliland presented his credentials to President Muse Bihi. They were accepted.
Ethiopia continues to express a desire to resolve the matter peacefully. During his briefing, Mr. Taye reiterated that progress had been made during the Ankara talks but expressed concern that “provocative comments from certain individuals and hostile forces must not undermine these efforts.”
Despite Ethiopia’s commitment to pursuing a peaceful resolution with Somalia, the situation remains unpredictable, especially with Egypt already deploying more than 10,000 troops in Somalia amid widespread public protests. Meanwhile, Ethiopia has moved its mechanized defense forces to the border with Somalia.

Tell’em patriot, tell’em! When I see this fire spitting patriot in charge of foreign affairs, I’m assured that the old country is in an extremely capable hands. Go get’em tiger!!!!!
Now I want to say a word or two about those who are celebrating Egypt’s alleged move in Somalia and its thinly veiled declaration of war on the in the innocent black folks of Ethiopia. Shame on you! Some of you are home grown and certified bigots who are gripped with avowed hatred for Oromos, Amharas and Tigres. You throw around pejorative and profane words like candies. Some of you might have born in Ethiopia but now hold a different citizenship. What distinguish you from other bigots is you rest the blame on the leaders of the old country and tell us it deserves the reckless saber rattling by e-Sisi and his thugs. I don’t think you are doing this with the blessing from Brother Isaias. He knows the real motive of Egyptian leaders throughout their modern history. He knows very well that in their eyes he is just another abid(a nigger) just as how they see any other Ethiopian. If you doubt me you should watch this video of his past speech:

He did not mince his words. So if you are dancing to the tune of el-Sisi and his death squad, you are dancing shamelessly alone. But you should know one fact etched in the stones of our glorious history. Those that raised their hands on the old country all meet their fate in the most humiliating ways. Crispi was dragged out of the office in 1896 like a disgraced thief. Mussolini did not meet his final fate posing up but hanging down like a pelt of an otter just hunted down in the fur trade. Siad Barre was beaten and chased out of his country as if he was caught robbing a bank in the Old West and died on a dirty sheet in a hospital built for the homeless in Lagos, Nigeria. Nasser in his final days used to look like that disheveled homeless wino from the streets of LA, Chicago or New York and suddenly suffocated to death of diabetes he got from gobbling down too much sugary carb. Not a different fate awaits that Halawa drunk rabid dog el-Sisi if he dares to do something ‘funny’ to the those innocent black folks whose only ‘crime’ is their working hard to take themselves out of darkness without taking away the share of water from the Blue Nile River of their historical neighbors near and afar.
Okay bigots and connivers! Keep on wiggling your hips because that may be your last chance dancing!!! Mark my word for it!!!
Thanks for sharing,
In my personal experience with encountering the Egyptian government, I learned from first hand accounts that they are very racist government. And the people of Egypt are highly oppressed, unlike anything I’ve seen. The Egyptian government tourism is enriched by the Black Diaspora community. Africans from the Americas out thousands of United States currency dollars into the hands of the Egyptian government.
Next we are seeing an attempt to destabilize Africa. We should all be moving toward Africa, because African is facing what appears to be funded coups to make things like the economy and Ancient artifacts extremely vulnerable.
This is a concern, ethiopia has the Ark of the Covenant and it the oldest Christian Nation known in the World and it is documented and seen in its churches, history, and culture. We are very concerned about this, plus some of the fierce warriors are in Ethiopia. The Tigray war and other tribal differences are making us weaker towards these hostile threats.
Also, Egypt is closest to Gaza. The fact that they are closest to the Palestinians territory and would rather give arms weapons OF possible Mass Destruction is a sign that this is not the works of the Egyptian government alone. That possibly this is in plain sight White Supremacy, calling us to attention and do something about what is happening in Africa, which is a threat to humanity. Ethiopia is the place of humanity. Our team is working on getting on the grounds in Ethiopia because we tired of the things that are dividing us. Let it be instead a sacrifice, as the Tigray and other tribal differences need to unite within Ethiopia and surrounding areas like Eritrea, Sudan, Somali. We are asking that the Egyptian government know that a threat to Ethiopia is a threat to humanity. No nation on planet Earth can survive under any circumstance that Ethiopia loose it’s sovereignty or even experience war to the extent like the Palestinians.
We should all advocate that the Ethiopian government use forces for Support that is not Anti Black or White Supremacists government. You will need to be open a bit more to get the help and solutions outside of the White supremacist governments.
Ethiopia must be an example to the Chinese government, the United States government, and stand on its own … Because the whole world and humanity sovereignty lies in the had of Ethiopia.
Ethiopia is fine because my husband and I are coming home to ensure we help our people to heal and unite with one another.
