Toronto –  A proposed legislation on sperm and egg donation for “medically assisted reproduction service”  is reportedly tabled in the Ethiopian Parliament.

Abiy Ahmed’s administration has a habit of framing legislation on issues that could be controversial or trigger public anger in a way to “conceal” matter.

The reproductive cell donation legislation  is framed as a “Health Service Administration and Inspection” proposal.

According to local sources, the proposed legislation has 12 parts. “General Health Service,” “health service delivery,” “human resources administration in the health sector and regulation of health professionals, are among the contents in the legislation.

“Technologically assisted” reproductive health service is among the items listed in the proposal.  A licensed health institution will be providing “technologically assisted reproductive health service.”

According to the source, the proposed legislation noted that donation of reproductive cells (sperm and egg) was illegal in Ethiopia. However, the new proposed legislation made it legal.

Sections detailing the circumstances under which the donation could be made  are also included in the legislation, and they may appear to be intended to make the legislation acceptable.  The service will be provided to married couples and they will be expected to provide proof for it. It has also to be proved that the couple can not give birth in a natural way. Another condition is that there has to be a medical “proof” that sperm or egg donors will not be severely impacted by the process.

Under the new legislation, licensed reproductive health providers will be allowed to undertake what is called “man-made” reproduction health service.

Over 98 percent of the Ethiopian population is said to be religious. The government has been systematically weakening religious institutions, particularly the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, for many years now.

Ethiopian religious institutions have been protesting that the Ethiopian government signed the Samoa Agreement under the guise of human rights which included contents about sex education and “inclusive” education.

The Ethiopian parliament is dominated (over 95 percent) by the ruling “Prosperity Party” and the proposal could be a law without meaningful debate.

  1. This could be good news for those who can’t conceive a child. But watch now how bigots and connivers will frame this legislation. One side of Minnesota, LA, Tennessee, Michigan, Oslo and Down Under will characterize this legislation as something intended to justify the genocide Part CXX by the ‘Amhara’ federal government in Addis/Finfinne on Oromos only and the other side of Minnesota, LA, Tennessee, Michigan, Oslo and Down Under will call it the Addis/Finfinne ‘Oromo’ federal government’s grand scheme to unleash genocide Part Deux on Amharas only. You watch!!!

  2. I just saw a report on USGS about another earthquake at the same location where it hit several days ago. It is an after shock but it measured 4.6 on the Richter scale. It has been my worries for decades. Thank Almighty it happened at a sparsely populated area.

  3. Prosperity Party is an enemy of Ethiopia and Ethiopian long-held tradition and culture.
Prosperity Party must step down. Prosperity Party is a satanic imported ideology.
