TORONTO, Canada — Professor Teshome Abebe, economist living in the United States, remarked on the recent World Bank Report on Ethiopian economy and the ongoing National Dialogue.
The latest World Bank report indicated that the macro-economic reform measure that Ethiopia introduced in mid 2024 emphasizing market based economy has worsened poverty in the country. Over 90 million Ethiopians are facing challenges with access to healthy meal.
Professor Teshome also remarked on the current situation in the country including the National Dialogue – a process that opposition parties and notable activists have been rejecting as one organized to advance the interest of the ruling party, not the country. It has been widely criticized as not inclusive and neutral.
