Toronto – A senior police commander is reportedly killed in the Oromia region of Ethiopia. The officer is identified as Commander Getachew Bezu.
According to an Ethiopian Media Service report, he was the commander of the region’s special forces. Temporal and spatial details of the incident are unspecified in the report.
However, it is indicated that his killing is related to the combat operations the region’s special forces has been undertaking against armed groups operating in the region.
The source further added that the funeral arrangement planned to take place on Friday was cancelled.
The Oromia regional state has not denied or confirmed the killing of one of its senior commanders of the security apparatus in the region. The Oromo Liberation Army (OLA) did not make official claim either.
The Federal government had been making claims that the region’s special forces were dissolved. The narrative was dominant at a time when the federal government was about to start its military operation in the Amhara region of Ethiopia about two years ago to “disarm” Fano forces.
The Oromo Liberation Army (OLA) has been extensively operating in the Oromia region for over six years now. It has been linked to the killings of several zone and district level security and government officials. It has also been linked to the massacre of tens of thousands of civilians in the region, particularly ethnic Amhara, and widespread kidnappings. The group denies the allegation.

How do we know the commander was killed? How do we know he did not die of natural causes? From his looks in the photo of him shown above, he has multiple layers pf hotdogs wrapped around his neck and is framed up with more than two chins. If you have these excesses on your body, you are signing your own death warrant. You will either suddenly hit the floor for good or one morning they can’t wake you up.
If he has really passed away, may he rest in eternal peace.
