However, I believe a more comprehensive understanding of the contextual factors surrounding Zemene Kase’s involvement is necessary for a complete and balanced evaluation.

Your concerns regarding the lack of transparency surrounding Zemene Kase’s invitation are valid and deserve careful consideration. The absence of a clear explanation raises legitimate questions about the selection process and potentially influences its outcome. 

This lack of openness not only compromises the forum’s credibility but also erodes public trust. A transparent and publicly available explanation of the invitation process is imperative to maintain the forum’s integrity and foster public confidence in future events.

Primarily,  while criticizing Zemene Kase’s utilization of the forum, it’s also crucial to acknowledge the severely restricted media landscape within Abiy Ahmed’s dictatorial rule. Widespread censorship and the imprisonment of dissenting voices create a challenging environment where effective communication necessitates complex strategic maneuvering. 

Even though it is impossible, if Zemene Kase was presented with a chance for him to use state-controlled media, despite being an enemy controlled media, it might represent a calculated attempt to reach a broader audience. This strategic choice, while inherently risky, should be evaluated in the context of the immense pressure faced by those advocating for change within this restrictive environment.

Fano’s choice for armed struggle over peaceful struggle and civil disobedience, underscores the absence of safe spaces for open dialogue and peaceful dissent. This dire reality significantly constrains the options available to those seeking change. In such a climate, actions that might appear unconventional or even controversial must be interpreted within the context of extreme pressure and the profound lack of alternative avenues for resistance.

Secondly, your critique of Zemene Kase’s alliance with anti Fano groups requires further examination. The fact of his video speech presents the opposite. Zemene Kase  presented a dynamic stance for the armed struggle to continue unabated against dictatorship,I appreciate your critical perspective and insightful analysis. However, a more comprehensive and contextually informed evaluation—one that explicitly recognizes the limitations faced by activists, the systematic suppression of peaceful dissent, and the desperate choices made by those fighting for their survival and self-determination—will facilitate a more productive and constructive dialogue.
