Addis Ababa, Ethiopia– An armed group believed to be affiliated with the Fano militia in Ethiopia’s restive Amhara region has officially submitted its agenda to the National Dialogue Commission, according to Commissioner Mesfin Araya (Prof.).
In an interview with Fana Broadcasting Corporation, Commissioner Mesfin confirmed that the group presented its agenda within the past week. However, he declined to disclose the identity of the group, stating that such information would only be shared with the group’s consent.
“Only if the group allows us can we make their identity public,” he said, noting that the Commission is open to receiving agendas through representatives, even from actors engaged in armed resistance.
The Commission recently concluded an agenda-gathering forum in Bahir Dar, Amhara region’s seat that began on March 6, 2025 and wrapped up on April 12. The forum included political parties, government officials, influential individuals, civil society leaders, and representatives from various institutions.
Doubts Over Inclusivity and Practicality
Despite the Commission’s claims of inclusivity, concerns are growing over the actual representativeness and practicality of the dialogue process, particularly in the context of the ongoing violence in the Amhara region.
Local and international observers have questioned whether voices from all sides of the conflict — especially armed groups like Fano and affected civilian populations — are being adequately included in a process that aims to bring national consensus.
Many also point out the lack of trust between the federal government and regional actors, raising doubts about whether genuine dialogue can take place while military operations continue in the region. Displacement, arrests, and allegations of human rights violations have further complicated efforts to engage communities in meaningful conversation.
Additionally, critics argue that the Commission’s outreach remains limited, with some influential political figures and opposition groups either sidelined or skeptical of the process.
Background on the National Dialogue Commission
The National Dialogue Commission was established in December 2021 by the Ethiopian Parliament with the mandate to lead an inclusive dialogue to address the country’s political and social divisions. Its stated goal is to create a national consensus that can serve as a foundation for long-term peace and democratic development.
However, the success of the Commission will likely depend on its ability to engage all key stakeholders — especially those currently estranged or in conflict with the government — in a credible and transparent manner.
The recent participation of a Fano-linked group could represent a small step toward broader engagement, but whether it signals a real shift in the political dynamics of the Amhara conflict remains to be seen.

Who’s at fault is not the question.
The real question is, how did MANKIND get here?
Then it is easy to see that the very system we all live in this world is built on DISHONSTRY as its’ core foundation.

Boom, ‘Democracy’ was born, what a better system to manipulate the entire globe than this… and was forced elsewhere to be the de facto system everyone must follow or else.
Some found and chose other ways, the strongest among them keep getting strong warnings time and again to change their ways, using some modern warfare means like “SANCTIONS”, and now ‘TARIFF’s.
That was what happened ever since, first in Europe, and in the early 1900s they set foot in the US. And the entire US congress & the executive branch slowly became the banker’s paid warriors. Since they maneuvered their man Woodrow Wilson to the presidency in 1913. On December 22, 1913 their wishes were fulfilled with the FED & IRA inked into law 298 to 60 votes out of the total seats of 435 (with 77 absentees).
AIPAC is the more powerful Jewish lobbyist group in the US that dictates and controls what Washington ( the US government) does world wide, mostly focused on what goes on in the US and the Middle East.

But it is the Bankers that do the directing.
