Toronto – The TPLF Forces reportedly protested for a second time in less than a month.

The force is posted near the Ethio-Eritrean border in the Adigrat area.

Over a month ago, they protested  in Mekelle over benefits and unpaid salaries.

Members of the forces the TPLF organized as Army 15, against the provisions of the Pretoria Agreement, took to the street in Adigrat city.

According to sources, some of the slogans chanted during the protest oppose war.

“We will not go to war again,”  “our choice is peace”  and “what we want is land where we can live, not one where we get buried,” are some of the anti-war slogans members of Army 15 shouted during their protest.

About a month ago, TPLF forces staged a similar protest in Mekelle, seat of the region’s interim administration. They were also blocking roads between Adigrat and Mekelle.

The Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) has allegedly been preparing for another round of war whose aims are unclear except taking Wolkait area by force again.

Apart from the TPLF army, many of the opposition parties operating in the Tigray region opposed TPLF’s preparation for war.  They say “Tigray can not shoulder another round of war when it is not recovered from the last one.”

Last week, the Afar region of Ethiopia alleged that TPLF Forces crossed into the region and took control of six villages in Megal district.

The Federal defense force reportedly carried out a drone strike against the TPLF forces last week along the Tigray and Afar regions.  The TPLF has confirmed that there was a drone strike and that there were casualties without specifying the numbers and nature of it.

A week or so before the drone strike, the defense chief of staff vowed that action will be taken against the TPLF. He accused the organization of violating the terms of the Pretoria Agreement.

In addition to organizing an army with mechanized units, the TPLF is allegedly working with the Eritrean government with the aim to start against Ethiopia.

Over 600,000 people were reportedly killed during the 2020-2022 war between the TPLF and the Federal government.
