Toronto – Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has been meeting with “community representatives” for several weeks now. From the video footage that state media has been sharing, it seems that the Prime Minister himself is deepening a propaganda campaign. He used community members to give their testimonials about the prestige projects in the capital Addis Ababa as something that demonstrates that his government is into “prosperity of Ethiopia.”
The security crisis that is claiming tens of thousands of lives – especially in the Oromia region – and the war that the country has been experiencing is either non-issue to him or it is externalized – if it is discussed.
In what appears to be a response to Abiy Ahmed’s propaganda crusade to recover lost legitimacy, Anchor Media published the following on its YouTube channel (in Amharic). What is your view? Share it in the comment section.
