Toronto  – Ethiopians and Eritreans reported to be among those who were wounded by an Iranian missile strike against the United Arab Emirates on Saturday.

According to BBC Amharic, three killed and fifty-eight others wounded in the two days of Iranian missile attack on UAE.  Based on the report, the injury is not life threatening.

Those killed are Pakistani, Nepali and Bangladeshi nationals.

The Country’s Ministry of Defense shared updates on its X page. It said “… since the beginning of the Iranian attack on 28th February, 2026, 165 ballistic missiles launched from Iran towards the UAE have been detected. Of these, 152 were destroyed, while 13 fell into sea waters. Two cruise missiles were also detected and destroyed.”

The deaths and wounds appear to be from a drone strike.

The Ministry said, “A total of 541 Iranian drones were detected, of which 506 were intercepted and destroyed, while 35 fell within the country, causing material damage. The incidents resulted in three fatalities of Pakistani, Nepali and Bangladeshi nationalities, and 58 minor injuries among Emirati, Egyptian, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese and Afghan nationals.”

Israel and the United States launched a joint bombing campaign against Iran in the early hours of Saturday targeting key military and political figures. Iran’s spiritual and political leader, Ali  Khamenei was among those killed in the attack.

Iran responded to the attack with missile and drone strikes targeting Israel and several United States Military bases in the region including the United Arab Emirates.

  1. Woe, woe, woe to my people of Ethiopians and Eritreans!!! This war will not wrap up soon and it may go on for weeks. Our people of Eritreans and Ethiopians will be caught in the crossfire and victimized as this news article proved. It may be too late for most of them to evacuate now because almost all flights have been cancelled in that area and the goons in Tehran will keep raining deadly drones and missiles on UAE and Kuwait until they run out of ammo. May The Good Lord The Merciful blanket our people from any harm!!!
