TORONTO, Canada – Contradictory reports emerging regarding the “withdrawal” of Eritrean troops from the Tigray region of Ethiopia.
Some reports claim that Eritrean Forces withdrew from Zalambessa, a border town and the Ethiopian troops controlled it. Eritrea consistently denied troop presence in Ethiopia.
On the other hand, there are claims that suggest the presence of Eritrean forces in Ethiopian soil. Teame Aradom, senior leaders of Semret party – a party that was established by politicians who parted ways with TPLF including Getachew Reda and Tsadkan Gebretensae, told the Reporter that Eritrean forces are still in control of five kebeles in Irob district although they withdrew from Zalambessa.
