Toronto – Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday announced that Ethiopia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Brazil.

The cooperation agreement is focused on the agricultural sector. The scope of the cooperation agreement includes areas like plant health, livestock breeding, capacity building, research and technology transfer, according to a disclosure from the Ministry.

The agreement is also anticipated to further strengthen the bilateral ties between the two countries in the agriculture sector as a whole.

It was signed in  Brasilia during the conclusion of the “Brazil-Africa Dialogue on Agriculture and Food Security that was held in Brasilia from May 19-23, 2025.”

Leulseged Tadese,  Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Brazil, and Mr. Carlos Favaro,  Brazil’s Minister of Agriculture & Livestock signed the agreement.

In March this year, Ethiopia had organized an investment promotion event in Brazil with the aim to attract investors to the country.

  1. The Agriculture Sector in Ethiopian can be revamped, improved, & further mechanized using these advanced-and-affordable farming equipment that would make our farmers more productive & attract our young people to be actively involved in farming with minimal-startup-cost using these small but powerful agricultural equipment from China, that would revolutionize farming in Ethiopia in a big way; game changers, particularly in the mountainous-regions of the North, North West, & Central, where large farm equipment cannot be used.

Even better, if these equipment manufacturers are attracted to a local-partnership-enterprise to open their factories locally. ( Business idea for the diaspora community?)

    Be well.
