Toronto – As the ruling Prosperity Party is intensifying a propaganda campaign to score a point over the completion of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), notable opposition parties in the country dismissed it.
Daniel Kibret, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s advisor on social affairs, this week wrote on his social media that what counts is the goal and goal scorer, not the assist. His own goal, from what he wrote, was aggrandizing his boss, Abiy Ahmed.
That feeling is absent with the people. Some of the major and most active Ethiopian nationalist parties are dismissing the claim. The completion of the dam represents the result of the struggle and contribution of the Ethiopian people. It was financed from local sources. People from all walks of life contributed to the project.
Abraham Haymanot, president of the Ethiopian People Revolutionary Party (EPRP), and Getnet Worku, Public Relation Head of Enat party, elaborated the matter during an interview with Anchor media. Take a listen from the embedded file below and share your views in the comment section.
