NAIROBI, Kenya — The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission (ENDC) announced that the presentation and formal adoption of the comprehensive consensus document—originally scheduled for approval today before 4,000 plenary delegates—has been rescheduled for tomorrow.

The delayed document represents a unified master proposal synthesized from eight thematic working groups by a 120-member harmonization committee, comprising 15 elected representatives per group, tasked with reconciling recommendations across all dialogue pillars.

Addressing journalists during a press briefing, Deputy Chief Commissioner Hirut Gebreselassie stated that the extension was granted after the drafting team requested additional time to reconcile cross-group proposals without introducing contradictions, structural redundancies, or procedural gaps.

Throughout morning sessions, consolidated recommendations were submitted back to all eight thematic working groups. This process enabled delegates to examine proposals and provide feedback on agendas outside their original committee assignments.

Observational reports from the Federal Cities committee session noted that reading sessions commenced to present cross-group findings in standardized formats.

Several working groups finalized review feedback across multiple external agenda pillars during the morning session. The 120-member drafting committee will incorporate these inputs overnight to finalize the master document.

The Commission confirmed that following the integration of tonight’s working group feedback, the consolidated consensus document will be presented directly to the full 4,000-delegate assembly tomorrow morning for final adoption.
