Toronto – The Wollo chapter of Amhara Fano National Movement (AFNM) says over 200 government forces are killed in the West Wollo area of the Amhara region.
Abebe Fantaw, Partnership & Cooperation Directorate of AFNM, shared an update on his social media page about it. He said the 23rd division of Lij Eyasu Corps was in control of Tenta and Mekdela districts in West Wollo.
The number of soldiers wounded is undisclosed. As well, AFNM has not disclosed if there were casualties from its forces.
The Defense Force had deployed mechanized units in the operation according to Abebe Fantaw. However, the story is not independently verified.
The Ethiopian Defense Force has not remarked about Fano’s claim at the time of this writing.

Is this supposed to be good news for some people among us? If so, what is good about one brother killing his other brother? I tell you one more thing. From that country’s own recent history since 1974 or any other country around the globe since WWII for all that matters, nothing good has come out of violent form of struggle. Nothing good. I mourn whenever I read such news of brothers butchering each other like mortal rivals of prides of lionesses or hyenas and lions.
This for those warmongers in Amhara, Oromia, Tigray as well as the top brass in the federal government with unquenchable crave for bloodshed by pitching one brother on the other.
That mothers shall wail when they behold
Their infants quartered with the hands of war,
All pity choked with custom of fell deeds,
And Peace’s spirit, ranging for revenge,
With Ate by its side come hot from hell,
Shall in these confines with a children’s voice
Cry “Havoc!” and let slip the dogs of war,
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.
Shall in these confines with a children’s voice
Cry “Havoc!” and let slip the dogs of war,
Dogs of war! Dogs of war! Dogs of war! Dogs of war!
