Residents from the area confirmed that civilians were killed in the attackĀ

Borkena
Toronto – The Ethiopian Defense Force on Saturday carried out drone strikes in two locations near Woldia city, which is about 520 kilometers north of the capital Addis Ababa.
One of the locations is “Jarsa Ber” – near Woldia city and the other one is in Sanka, just about 10 kilometers west of the city.
According to residents the incidents occurred on Saturday in the morning. Four civilians were wounded from the attack in Sanka.
In Sanka, it was a health centre that was targeted in the attack. Credible sources told a Borkena reporter that four civilians were killed from the attack on the health center.
Jarsa Ber has seen three rounds of drone strikes. Residents also reported that there was continued gunfire. From this one, at least two civilians are killed. There were also casualties on the side of Fano although the residents had an unspecified number of casualties.
Statement Amhara Fano National Force (AFNF) released says physicians are among the victims of the drone attack at the health center in Sanka.
Also, Fano has reported over ten drone strikes in Woldia. The city administration, on the other hand, says the information circulating on social media regarding Woldia is incorrect. “Woldia is peace,” it said in a statement it released on its social media page.
Residents from Woldia told borkena reporter a different story. “Today attack and the vibe is intimidating. The drone has also been undertaking surveillance,” residents told borkena on condition of anonymity.
Another informant told borkena that “there is no business activity and movement of vehicles in Woldia and Sanka.”
The drone attacks came days after Ethiopian Defense Forces suffered a reported heavy loss following a fighting with Fano near Beklo Manekia and adjacent areas. Fano forces claimed over 470 deaths. Another 280 government soldiers were captured. A video footage purportly showing the captives was circulating on social media over the past few days.
South of Woldia, strong presence of Fano forces is reported near Wuchale and Wurgessa town along the Woldia and Dessie road. However, no exchange of fire occurred in this area, sources told borkena.
