Toronto – Ethiopian Airlines Boeing Aircraft reportedly made emergency landing in Mumbai for safety reasons.
It was carrying 300 passengers and 11 crew members and all have arrived safely after the pilots initiated an emergency landing at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
The Times of India cited a source to report that “On landing, seven passengers were attended to by the airport medical team for decompression-related symptoms, out of which one required hospitalisation.”
According to the Tour and Travel World Report, the Ethiopian Airlines ET640 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner was cruising the Arabian Peninsula when it suddenly experienced a drop in cabin pressure. It was flying at an altitude of 35,000 feet and had to descend to 10,000 feet following the incident.
“The crew acted quickly and descended to a safer altitude. The aircraft started descending at about 7:00 pm UTC, still about 1.5 hours away from its destination. The flight descended to below 10,000 feet and continued flying to Mumbai,” it was said.
The cabin crew responded to the emergency situation and oxygen masks were made available to the passengers.
There are indications, based on social media sources, of similar incidents involving Boeing planes about five days ago. 11 passengers were reported unwell on an Air India Boeing 777 flight from Heathrow to Mumbai. They reportedly experienced “dizziness and nausea” mid-flight. The incident is still under investigation, and seems to be related to the Boeing aircraft.
The airline has reportedly made arrangements for the passengers who are in Mumbai including for those who are connecting to other flights.
Ethiopian Airlines is yet to provide detailed accounts of the incident. The airlines has a reputation for safety records.

You land the plane with technical problems safely back on the ground. Okay bigots and connivers! Go to the street corners and cry your eyeballs out because you did not the tragic news you are craving for. Or jump in the lake.
