Toronto – The Ethiopian government, through the defense chief, has announced last week that 90 percent of Fano forces are annihilated.
However, reports emerging from different parts of the Amhara region seem to suggest that Fano forces do still have a strong presence in many areas of the region. Dozens of operations have been reported over the past six days. There are even instances where Fano forces claim upper hand as is the case with the operation in Meket district of the Lasta, North Wollo.
The forces in the Gondar area also still undertake operations, as has been the case over the past two years, and claim to have caused losses to the Defense force. They seem to be also planning even bigger operations in the upcoming rainy months. Samuel Baledel, one of the commanders of Fano forces in Gondar, spoke to Anchor media.
