Haile reportedly spent 1.7 billion birr for the Haile Resort Jimma Construction

Toronto – Haile Gebreselassie, Ethiopia’s long-distance running legend who is currently one of the top businessmen in the country, on Thursday inaugurated his tenth Resort Hotel in Jimma, Oromia region of Ethiopia. Jimma is believed to be the birthplace of coffee. The province’s name was Kaffa.
“10th Destination Unlocked! Celebrating 15 years of journey in Jimma, the historical coffee capital. Grand Opening!,” Haile Hotels and Resorts wrote on its social media page.
It has been 15 years since Haile Gebreselassie ventured into the hotel and resort business in Ethiopia. Haile Grand Addis, the largest of his hotel chains, was inaugurated in October 2023.
Jimma Haile Resort is a four star hotel. The hotel has 106 luxurious suites and two VIP villas, and a meeting hall. It also has facilities like gymnasium, spa, steam, sauna, Morocco bath and beauty salon.
In terms of dining experience, the hotel has four European and traditional restaurants. The hotel construction has reportedly featured the story of Jimma Abba Jifar, a 19th century chief of the locality.
“It is a great pleasure to open our 10th destination Haile Hotel Jimma which has a multifaceted significance to Jimma and surrounding areas,” Haile is quoted as saying.
The hotel has currently created 206 job opportunities for the local communities and the number is expected to rise to 400.
Haile Resorts nationwide created thousands of employment opportunities for Ethiopians.
Apart from Hotel Resorts, Haile Gebreselassie has huge investments in agriculture, Automotive industry and Renewable energies.
