Bacha Gina, the new president of CBE

Bacha Gina is named president of Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, according to reports published by Addis Fortune, a local newspaper, today.
His appointment is effective from July 8, 2018 ( July 1, 2010 Ethiopian calendar). The source added that Bacha received his letter of appointement today which came from Government Financial Enterprises Agency.
He has experience as Credit and Risk Management at Awash Internattional Bank S.c., reveals his profile on LinkedIn. In his latest role before assuming the new position, he served as vice-president of the Cooperative Bank of Oromia (CBO).
Bacha is replacing Bekalu Zeleke, who was appointed as deputy governor of National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE), about two weeks ago. Commercial Bank of Ethiopia is one of the oldest state-owned financial institutions in the country.
Apparent leadership changes to the key public financial institutions in Ethiopia is part of Abiy Ahmed economic reform measures.
