(Nairobi, Kenya) — The Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Party (EPRP) issued a statement condemning a recent attack in Endato Kebele, located in the Robe Woreda of East Arsi Zone, calling for an immediate end to civilian killings and official silence surrounding targeted violence.

Citing reports from local residents, the party stated that attackers killed 34 civilians during an assault executed between the evening of October 25 and the morning of October 26. The EPRP highlighted that numerous injured individuals could not obtain critical medical care due to enforced road blockades and the absence of emergency ambulance services.

In its statement, the EPRP strongly denounced the targeting of civilians, religious discrimination, and actions denying populations access to essential healthcare, emphasizing that human life must supersede all political objectives. The party criticized a persistent pattern of post-tragedy inaction, where initial body counts and public statements are routinely followed by silence and public forgetting.

The EPRP urged an urgent, independent, and transparent international investigation into the events in Endato and broader targeted attacks against Orthodox Christian communities, demanding legal accountability for all perpetrators.

Furthermore, the party appealed for immediate medical relief for the injured, emergency humanitarian assistance for displaced families, and accurate public disclosure regarding the scale and details of the attack. Calling on international human rights bodies to advocate for victims, the party asserted that silence and official neglect cannot resolve ongoing security crises.
