“TPLF forces Started Controlling Key Places” : Report

Borkena Desk

TORONTO, Canada – It has been over three weeks now since the conflict in the Tigray region of Ethiopia resumed after four years of uneasy “peace.”

The TPLF forces, they call themselves Tigray Defense Force, withdraw from several cities starting Alamta and further north including Aksum, Adigrat and Adwa.

They stated their withdrawal from the cities without fighting the Ethiopian Defense Force and The Tigray Peace Force, armed groups that broke away from TPLF opposing the new alliance with Eritrea and new war that TPLF was preparing for, as they alleged.

Although the Ethiopian Defense Force did not share any updates regarding the operation in the region including the capture of towns, media outlets with connections in Tigray like, Awarmba Times, were reporting that the Ethiopian Defense Forces is already in the border area. Eritrean forces were also allegedly in many parts of the region but they withdrew from most of the areas by this week including Zalambesa, a border town. Yet, there is also a report that they still control about five kebeles in the Irob district. Eritrea denies troop presence in the Tigray region.

TPLF affiliated media outlets, like Zara Media, on Wednesday reported  a significant military gain against the Ethiopian Defense Force in the Temben area. Details of the operation including casualties and captured government soldiers are not yet available. Anchor Media has covered the story.

Meanwhile, the Amhara Fano National Movement (AFNM) reportedly gained military victories in Wollo, Gondar, Shoa and Gojjam. Take a listen to embedded content below from Anchor media and share your views in the comment section
