TORONTO, Canada – Abiy Ahmed made about an hour long speech at the Ethiopian Parliament shortly after he was sworn in for another term as Prime Minister.
The reaction from the public to his second term rather appears to be indifferent while there is also noticeable fear that things will get worse in the years ahead.
His government has been suffering from a serious legitimacy crisis, as demonstrated through the proliferation of armed struggles in the country with grass-roots support, over a range of economic, political and security reasons.
In his speech, he called on the Parliament to assess the level of readiness of the defense force. He also talked about access to the sea which he aspires to acquire through negotiation or by force.
Take a listen to his speech and share your views in the comment section.
