To EU, UK, Canada And Norway:  Why Support the New Alliance in Ethiopia

Dear responsible leaders and citizens of the Western nations, including those in the EU, the UK, Canada, and Norway.

This is a brief note to you, especially to members of the diplomatic community residing in Addis Ababa, in other African capitals, and beyond. Please pay close attention to the present situation in Ethiopia. Ethiopia is a country of approximately 130 million people, and any further devastation and disorder could destabilize not only the Horn of Africa but potentially have consequences across East Africa, the Middle East, the Red Sea corridors, the Mediterranean, Europe, and beyond. A major conflict appears to be looming between seven allied powers and government forces. As the known politician, Mr. Lidetu Ayalew, who is now in the diaspora, warns, the country is heading into a war of a magnitude that we have never seen in our history. The situation deserves urgent attention from the international community before further violence and instability take hold. At the root of the current crisis is the country’s political leadership, particularly Abiy Ahmed Ali, a person who is incompetent to lead such a nation. He is enabled by individuals and groups who have been personally recruited and placed in positions of influence by him. 

It is a well-known fact that you are able to gather evidence through your networks. As you can also verify, he is investing heavily in two things: deceptive propaganda and drone technology to kill masses. Just yesterday alone, he used drones 19 times in one area in Northern Wello, hitting schools and civilians. For some reason, he has believed that he can win over millions just by using drones and propaganda. By the way, medical doctors, engineers, teachers, and other professionals are not paid like his media and social media propagandists. Post anything opposing him and his government, and you will see the grissa posting similar things opposing your post. This is the troll hired by him. The reality of 120 million people is different. It has gone from bad to worse in the economy, social security, safety, diplomacy, the rule of law, and so on. Why? A person who is not capable of leading a nation, a person with deficiencies in thinking and solving real problems, is at the top of the helm. Since he came to power, millions in Oromia, Tigray, Amhara, and elsewhere have died and suffered a lot. Yes, it is perceived as the OPDO, renamed as the Oromo Prosperity Party, with a leadership dominated by few gangs, as if they represent the great Oromo people. The fact is far from it. He is the cancer of the country. Please stop this man before he destroys millions just for the sake of staying in power that he stole from others. Let us provide you with a few facts that show how he is the only problematic person who is working hard to create a devastation that will make the Rwandan genocide look like a miniature activity. Let us provide a few facts that highlight our position.

1. He actively works hard for Oromo people and Amhara people to Kill each other

Right now, Abiy Ahmed Ali and his gangs are working daily to make ethnic Oromo and other ethnic groups, especially the Amhara ethnic group, hate each other and kill each other. His right-hand man, Shimelis Abdisa, the president of the Oromia Region, is equipping farmers in the surroundings of Addis Ababa to fight for his power. He is trying to mobilize them by telling them to have hatred against others. Abiy Ahmed Ali came out on OBN and spoke in the Oromo language, trying to persuade and fill the Oromo ethnic group with hatred and remind them that they have enemies, especially the Amhara ethnic group. Remember, the Oromo and Amhara ethnic groups share borders for thousands of kilometers. In fact, the most mixed ethnic groups in the country, living together for centuries, are these two ethnic groups. Abiy Ahmed Ali and his gangs are working hard to create division and mass killing between these people. They have special places like Kelem Wellega, Ataye, and many other places to trigger and aggravate division. That is why all the atrocities happening in these places. Right now, a few kilometers from Addis Ababa, in Sheger City and beyond, farmers are being persuaded to buy guns for mass killings and ethnic conflicts. Businessmen are persuaded to buy guns for the farmers. Just try to find out these claims. It will be very easy for you to verify. If this happens, you will see Addis Ababa being destroyed with bloodshed in a couple of weeks only.

2. He actively works hard for Tigray and Amhara people to hate and Kill each other

Abiy Ahmed Ali is working hard to create a huge conflict between Tigray people and Amhara people in the northern part so that he can manage to save himself. He was successful in aligning the Amhara people with him in the previous war with Tigray forces. That is how he managed to save himself. But after that he has been engaged in destroying  the Amhara farmers life the past three years using all his army, including using daily drone attacks across the region, in the name of fighting the freedom fighters who control the vast majority area of the country. 

Now, after forgetting what he did and what he is doing in the vast Amhara region, a month ago he came out on Amhara Television and literally said that Amhara people should remember what TPLF/Tigray forces did to Amhara people and that they should not stand with them. Since the people realized the game and started to talk and come together.  Even a few weeks ago, he went to Debre Markos and literally said to the people of Gojam, “Emperor Yohannis attacked Gojam. How did you forget that history and work with Tigray people?” How can a country’s leader actively seek and say such things on media and social media? Since his competence in thinking critically is very low, he thinks he can deceive people again since he controls the mega-propaganda machine. The people have refused his agitation. But he is hoping to recruit a few poor individuals to be mercenaries. 

His two cards to divide Amhara and Tigray people  are places like Wolkait and Raya. He recently started a war on the Wolkait front. He hoped that he would repeat the victory he had during the Tigray war. It was through this corridor that the TPLF forces were defeated in the first round. Abiy’s forces got a breakthrough through this way, and the whole war was concluded in three weeks. He hoped the same would happen. But he did not know that the Amhara people were not with him. It was not the Wolkait force only that brought that victory. It was the Amhara forces from the whole region who went there. His little mind, which does not comprehend complex things, cannot calculate this. That magnitude of resistance was created by the whole Amhara people becoming involved due to the grief they had against the TPLF during its 27 years of leadership and the deception Abiy Ahmed Ali managed to carry out at that time – “the Northern Command attacked” lie. Now, both reasons are gone forever. Many Amhara do not feel that way against Tigray forces anymore. Abiy Ahmed Ali is a naked king who is, by now, exposed to every Ethiopian as a murderer and liar. No one buys his lies anymore. No one trusts him any longer, only those who are paid are working form him. What happened in that war was a swift defeat of his forces, including the mercenaries he had brought into the Wolkait region. He was forced to stop the war immediately. He even saw the counterparts destroying his heavy artillery and tanks with drones. That was a shock!

3. He actively works hard for people in Amhara region to hate and Kill each other

Another clear piece of evidence is that Abiy Ahmed Ali is working hard to create a rift and conflict between the people of Gojam and Gondar. To irritate and stir hatred, and then conflict, in the hearts of the people in Gojam, he will go to Gondar and carry out some project, surrounding himself with a heavy military command, and he will lift up Gondar and undermine Gojam. In turn, he will go to Gojam, like at the Debre Markos airport inauguration, a project that was conceived and carried out by previous leaders, and he will say things that agitate the Gondar representatives. What is he doing? He is trying to create competition and division among the Amhara people. He managed to divide the Gondar people using the Wolkait problem and other internal divisions like the Kimant people and other Gonderians.

4. He actively works hard for people in Oromia region to hate and Kill each other

Abiy Ahmed Ali has many mercenaries recruited and trained by his gangs to divide the Oromo people. They are actively working day and night to set up new mercenary groups like Geda Commando, Aba Kerbe, Gatecna Kerna, Shene (government one), command posts, the Oromia Special Force, militia, police, and so on. These forces are carrying out killings and kidnappings in an unprecedented way to divide the Oromo people and turn them against each other. Most importantly, Abiy Ahmed Ali and his forces are working day and night to counterattack the real freedom fighters in the region, the Oromo Liberation Army (OLA), led by Jaal Marroo. Since the OLA has aligned itself with coalition forces like the TPLF, Fano, and four other freedom fighters in the country, representing the majority of the people in the country, Abiy Ahmed and his gangs are expected to create havoc and more disaster for the people in the region.

5. He actively works hard to create division between the northern and southern people

Abiy Ahmed Ali and his propaganda machinery are engaged in saying that the northern forces are coming to take power from you. The northerners, meaning the Tigray and Amhara people, are coming to take power from you, the southern ethnic groups, such as the Oromo and the ethnic groups from the former Southern Peoples’ Region, as if these people have been empowered during his time in government. Abiy Ahmed Ali is hoping this division might work on some people who have individual grievances against the people in the north, especially during the TPLF regime and during the time of the previous emperors. He is trying to capitalize on anything that works for him by dividing the people. He and his gangs are not able to see the fact that people in Ethiopia have been mixed for many decades. The so-called northerners are everywhere in the country. Are they intending the southern ethnic groups to cleanse any northerners in their vicinity? This is a very dangerous precedent!

6. He deliberately put Ambassador Masinga in danger putting him on military  helicopter so that he can be hit by the rebels 

The U.S. Embassy and others have announced that their citizens are not allowed to go to the war regions, including the areas around the vicinity of Lalibela. Even further, Abiy Ahmed Ali knew about the recent developments and the formation of the new coalition forces, a unified force to overthrow the government, like those who defeated the Derg regime. However, Abiy Ahmed planned to sacrifice his best friend, General Tsfaye, and Ambassador Masinga, hoping that the coalition forces would hit the two helicopters. But the forces on the ground had inside information and did not hit the helicopter where the ambassador was. The other one is reported to have been destroyed. Abiy Ahmed Ali wants to kill this man and create an advantage for himself. He might not even stop there. He might do it again with another international person and blame it on the rebels. This is what he has been doing. That is why he and his gangs killed singer Hachalu, General Seare, Dr. Ambachew, and so on. They want to convince and confuse. But one thing is clear: how this U.S. ambassador is behaving is really beyond the dignity of the great nation of the USA. He could have known better. 

Ethiopians’ response: Coalition forces

Now Ethiopians see Abiy Ahmed Ali naked. He is exposed.  Looking at his daily engagements in different languages and his daily drone attacks on civilians, there is no single man like Abiy Ahmed Ali. Ethiopians are suffering daily under the worst economic conditions while he uses the budget for bling-bling things and drones. There is no enemy like him who is an enemy to all Ethiopians. They knew that he was hired by a UAE leader to destroy their great nation. In turn, he gets to be a king or another eighth sultanate of the UAE, as Dr. Milkesa describes him. A few days ago, the Fano leader, Zemene Kassie, announced the launching of the coalition forces, including TPLF/TDF of Tigray, OLA of Oromia, Fano of Amhara, UGGUMU of Afar, and three other forces. The coalition is to save Ethiopia and Ethiopians from the hatred machine: Abiy Ahmed Ali and his gangs. This has created a huge hope among Ethiopians and a seismic power against Abiy Ahmed Ali and his gangs. They will go into action in the coming days. These have become the only legitimate force in the country. Since Abiy Ahmed Ali and his gangs are like the RSF of Ethiopia, the only difference is that the RSF in Sudan did not control the government position in the country, while Abiy and his gangs control the bank and tank of the country. That is why the UAE seems successful, seamlessly so far, in Ethiopia, without anyone in the international community exposing the country for what it is doing in Ethiopia, as opposed to what the UAE is doing in Sudan.

The coalition is against Abiy Ahmed Ali, and it is against the UAE. It is also against any power on Earth that is using this little nation that is destroying many African nations. It could even be the other great forces (we avoided naming them here for now), which is behind this little nation, incurring so much pain on the African continent. We all know that the UAE is a proxy nation used by other global forces. Of course, Abiy Ahmed Ali is not alone. He has Getachew Reda, Tsadikan infiltrating the Tigray forces; Birhanu Nega from opposition, Eskinder Nega and some others infiltrating Amhara forces; and Jawar Mohammed infiltrating Oromo opposition forces, Obasanjo from Nigeria infiltrating the diplomatic network, and few Ambassadors of great nations in Addis Ababa. All these people have received the same command as Abiy Ahmed Ali from other forces to destroy the nation together with him. The Ethiopian people have now noticed the pattern. All are united to root out the cancer.

Plea to the Westerners

The USA has failed to lead the region. Its Ambassador in Addis Ababa is a low-caliber man, at times acting as an agent of Abiy Ahmed instead of as a great Ambassador for the greatest nation on the planet. The EU, Canada, the UK, and Norway might be the sensible nations left for sound minds and a reasonable world order in the Western Hemisphere for now. That is why we (Ethiopians) call upon you to save the country from UAE boys. The hatred machine, the real conflict-aggravating force, the real source of instability and disaster, the person with low competence to comprehend complex situations, diplomatic illiteracy, shallow knowledge, and a fake personality, Abiy Ahmed Ali, is the very problem of the country right now. His previous election is a shame, and he should not be counted as a legitimate leader of the country. So, work with the coalition forces so that they can be legitimate and can be counted as accountable in whatever engagement they are going to have as a coalition force from now on.

We (Ethiopians) ask you to help avoid disaster in the country. (i) You can convince him to leave the country, as Mengistu Haile Mariam did. He can go and live in the UAE, his adopted country or to Kazakhstan. (ii) You can apply diplomatic pressure on him and his associates to face the ICC if they continue this crisis further. Yes, Ethiopians are united in their determination to remove him. But as the prominent politician Lidetu Ayalew has said, Abiy Ahmed will use everything at his disposal. Because he is a simple and unsophisticated thinker when it comes to solving problems, he is prepared to use all available drones and ammunition against civilians. This person has a blind spot regarding the disaster and conflict he inflicts on other people. It is a known personality disorder — one that impairs the capacity for empathy. So you can stop this man before Ethiopians stop him at any cost.
