Addis Ababa, July 15, 2026 – U.S. Ambassador to Ethiopia Ervin J. Massinga is traveling to the Tigray region to meet with humanitarian implementers to discuss U.S. support for critical, life-saving assistance, emphasizing the need for lasting peace and stability to ensure recipient communities build local capacity and transition away from emergency relief toward long-term self-reliance. Ambassador Massinga also intends to meet with political and civil society leaders to emphasize the urgent need for dialogue and the full implementation of the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement (COHA).
