Toronto – The Board of Directors of Amhara Bank named Yihnalem Aknaw president.
The new president is said to have over 24 years of experience in the banking industry in the country, mostly in Dashen Bank, one of the leading private banks in the country.
He has served in various roles ranging from Branch Manager to deputy president.
There have been reports of service delivery and good governance issues in the Bank.
Yihenew is believed to have notable strategic leadership experience and the ability to overcome the challenges the bank has been facing.
According to sources from the bank, the new president has also experience in finance audit and technology in the banking sector.
Modernizing the bank’s service delivery and transforming the digital service of the bank are identified as priority areas for Yihenew.
