Toronto – An investigation in the Civil Service employees academic credentials revealed 151 fraudulent cases.
It is the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Education that carried out the investigation. The investigation is initiated by the Federal civil service commission.
Eshetu Gelaye, Executive of Strategic Affairs in the Ministry, said ” of 38,245 cases the commission requested to be investigated, 34,487 verification was completed.”
33,632 are found to be asthenic credentials while the remaining 151 are determined to be fraudulent ones. How long it took to complete the investigation/ verification , and how it was implemented is unclear. Furthermore, whether those found to have fraudulent credential are facing charges or not is unclear.
Furthermore, 694 employee’s academic credentials have missing document. No further explanation on it.
Outside of the public service commission, credentials of 11,600 employees in the financial institutions were investigated and only three were found to be counterfeits.
