Fano claims that it has killed over 300 Ethiopian government forcesĀ

Borkena
Toronto – The Fano forces operating in the Amhara region of Ethiopia on Sunday announced that they have captured an army colonel in Dega Damo, Gojjam. His name is identified as Demelash Kochito.
A video footage purportedly showing the colonel with his captors has been circulating on social media on Sunday.
Asres Mare Damtie, one of the key leaders of Amhara Fano National Movement, disclosed he was captured after Tewodros Command 109th corps and the Command’s Commando Unit launched a joint offensive on Sunday starting 5 a.m. local time.
Over 300 government forces are reportedly killed. Three of them were military officers including in the rank of colonel.
They are reported to be longtime military commanders within the Eastern Command of the Ethiopian Defense Force, according to Fano forces. Their names are undisclosed.
The East Command under General Mohammed Tessema has been deployed to the area for several years now. The General made news headlines recently when he claimed what he described as “extremist” forces are no longer in “a position to stand their ground and fight.”
Fano operations were in the towns of Adet and Gonji.
From the battle in Adet, Fano claims to have killed 156 government forces. 22 of them were members of the Ethiopian Defense Force and the remaining were militia and anti-riot forces.
In Gonji, the number of government forces killed in the operation is said to be 150.
Fano is also claiming to have amassed a huge arsenal of firearms from both operations and freed over 200 prisoners.
However, they did not disclose information if there were casualties on their part.
The Ethiopian Defense Force has not remarked on the latest claims from Fano. Rather, it reported about seizure of vehicles and thousands of liters of fuel that was allegedly to be transferred to Fano forces.
Last week, the fano forces released a statement calling on opposition parties not to take part in the Federal election warning that those involved in elections activity in the region will be targeted.
The government has long been claiming that its military operation against Fano forces was near completion and what is pending is a “clearing up” one.

Anyone wanna bet? We should all expect the other rebel group in Oromia will come out swinging to tell this group that it has a much better success in the battlefield with 600 soldiers killed and 20 generals along with 3,000 soldiers captured. Wait a minute! The beauty contest among the goons is not over. Then the government will tell us that 4 regional commanders from both rebel groups along with 12,000 fighters have laid down their arms and returned to their communities. Ooh-wee! You just wait and see!!!
