General Tefera Mamo says the choice for Amhara people is between “slavery/extinction” and “freedom”

Responded to Getachew Reda’s allegation of Fano Forces involvement in “Tigray Genocide” – among other things

Borkena

Toronto – General Tefera Mamo, who joined the Fano forces well over a year ago, says the choice for the Amhara people is between “slavery” and “extinction” on the one hand and freedom on the other.

“There is a price to be paid in many forms if the choice is freedom,” he emphasized in his latest interview.

Getachew Reda, currently serving as Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s advisor on East African Affairs, made claims during a recent interview that “fano forces were involved in the genocide in Tigray and that they resorted to war against the Federal government in opposition to ‘Pretoria agreement.’”  Notably, Getachew stated, during the interview, that 76 percent of the “genocide” in Tigray was perpetrated by Eritrean troops.

General Tefera dismissed Getachew’s claim as false, pointing out that Fano forces never set foot in Tigray during the two years war between the Federal government and  TPLF forces. Fano forces were in North Wollo, Gondar, South Wollo and they paid sacrifice during the war. “They were never in Tigay,” he emphasized.

As to the alleged opposition to the “Pretoria Agreement,”  General Tefera said Fano forces started resisting the Federal government before the Pretoria Agreement and that it does not make sense to claim that they opposed it. He highlighted that the Amhara people have been subjected to massacre and facing extinction which became a factor in Fano’s rise.

General Tefera also remarked about the state of Fano force’s armed struggle in light of increasing claims on the part of the Ethiopian Defense Force and the ruling party’s “media army” that fano forces are weakened and losing ground. There is also a claim that a growing number of Fano forces are “surrendering.”

General Tefera dismissed the claims as false. “Those who  surrendered are ones whom the government used to infiltrate Fano or those who lack the strength to continue the armed struggle,” he said. Regarding the combat stature of the Fano forces, he claimed that “Fano’s strength is increasing from time to time.”

He went further to claim that Fano forces have inflicted significant losses on government forces to the point that the government was forced to withdraw divisions that suffered losses and replace them with new army divisions from time to time. He spoke in an assertive tone that Fano has demonstrated its strength in the battlefield.  The government initially intended to finish the operation in about three weeks when it made an announcement about it in August 2023. More than two and half years later, the battle is still underway in many parts of the Amhara region. The government has deployed mechanized units and extensively used combat drones. This week, one important fano figure was killed in a reported drone attack in North Shoa – less than 200 kilometers to the capital Addis Ababa.

On the question of unity of the two major Fano groups, Tefera said “it is not something that can be done in a rush.” He indicated that work is still underway to unite the two forces.

Meanwhile, the Ethiopian Defense Force has been extensively engaging the public in the Amhara region organizing a series of town hall meetings in towns. The message for the public is to “pressure fano forces” to surrender, lay down arms and “pursue their political demands in a peaceful way.”

  1. The two cells that constitute inception carry builders withing them for each cell category ( bon sell, organ cell, nerve cell, blood cell, flesh cell, nail & hair cells, etc. etc.). the moment the two cells unite the builders are activated and cell multiplication begins… Plant seeds come self contained and a seed dropped in moist soil activates germination and the seedling pops out to seek sun energy to continue growth, and seeds in storage/pocket remain possibilities of change & growth.

The same organisms that that are assigned as builders in the growth-faith, are also the same organisms that breakdown what they built in its old-age faith (decline-faith) as de-composers, which include bacteria, fungi, and invertebrates like earthworms… breaking down organic matter, and recycling nutrients, which helps improve soil health and fertility.

The same process is applies to all things, systems, planets, galaxies, and universes… societal systems are not immune from the same phenomenon; it is the natural /creations law.

An analysis of Ethiopia’s 18th-20th century history, through the framework of imperial ‘Rise and decline’ illuminates the mechanisms of state consolidation and fragmentation.
Atse Tewodros II’s tragic suicide—a refusal to surrender—was precipitated by the failure of surrounding kingdoms to rally to his support.
Conversely, Atse Menelik II successfully mobilized broad-based support, unifying the nation under centralized leadership. The political system he established persisted until 1974, when it succumbed to an ‘elite revolt’ characterized by internal power fragmentation (‘too many chiefs and not enough Indians’). This struggle for political cohesion remains unresolved in contemporary Ethiopia.
Following the natural-framework of beginnings & ends cycle, all societal-systems have hit the plateau, and the next possible stage is back to ‘ village counsel’ state.
Evidence outside of ‘earthling’s-science’ (stone age science/ kindergarten sandbox play ( ‘peer-review’ aka ‘dumb & dumber’ ) there are ‘theories’ civilized-societies in the upper realms our own galaxy utilize a form of governance that has no hierarchical-construct only a collection of ‘elders’ sit in the ‘Local Counsels’ & some like minded planetary systems joining the “Galactic counsel”. until there their system implodes as new galaxies form with their own ‘big-bang’. It has been said, our ‘big-bang’ is the 84th. All the old heavens we currently looking at with the kelp of Hubble-telescope and other new ones are the 83rg, 82nd, 81st that are slowly being decomposed that would take billions of years and by the time the 95th ‘big-bang’ happen we wont be able to see the 84th (we are on now); that has long being gone to thin air ( ‘No-thing’ / ‘source’/ LIFE).

    Be well.

  2. “Slavery or freedom” was the formula warlord Isaias used 33 years ago. Look what happened after all the wars, fear of war, destruction and youth fleeing the country. Isaias, the liberator frove the wasteland into a personal fiefdom and Eritreans into abject poverty and serfdom. Now Fano warlord wants to repeat the stupidity on the intimidated Amhara.
