Toronto – Ruling party cadres switched to a celebration and intensified propaganda mode after Masresha Setie, who used to be one of the Fano leaders in Gojjam, surrendered for what is made to appear as an “arranged” negotiation.
Stories of more surrenders from Fano forces have been making headlines on ruling party controlled state media outlets and Defense Force Social Media outlets.
Mounted in the narrative is that the Fano forces are now working with the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) and Eritrea.
In an interview with Anchor Media, Asres Mare Damte, member of the central command of the Amhara Fano National Force (AFNF) dismisses it as false. Yet, he also argues that the Abiy Ahmed Administration is massacring the Amhara people exploiting the very structure that TPLF formed as a “sword.” He made several other points.
