Toronto – Amhara Fano National Force (AFNF) on Friday announced that it has “killed and wounded over 90 government forces” in the North and West Amhara.
The battle stretched from Asheewa to Addis Kidam. It was the Tewodros Command of West Amhara that was fighting government forces.
Government forces were reportedly on a move towards Adguami heights and Ashewa for a “meeting.”
Military commanders were among the victims, according to AFNF. However, names of the commanders are unspecified.
Furthermore, Fano forces claim “government structure in Addis Kidam is being entirely dismantled.”
In Agaw Mider, also in Gojjam, Tewodros Command Agew Mider Division conducted an operation against anti-riots and defense forces. 22 government forces , including a soldier who was firing Dsk, and anti-riot forces were killed in the operation.
29 others are said to be wounded. In terms of firearms, 23 assault rifles and 328 ammunition had been seized.
In the North Amahra zone, the Belay Zeleke Command in West Gondar claims “victory” over government forces. This division of AFNF claimed that it ambushed government soldiers on Thursday as they were traveling to Abrahajira.
“18 government soldiers are killed and 26 wounded,” it said. Commanders of Meysaw Kassa Second Core Atanaw Wassie Division took part in the battle, according to the report.
The claim from Fano forces is not independently verified.
On the other hand, the Defense Force made counter claims this week saying it has killed over 100 ” in an operation in the Gojjam area.
It also made claims that “the extremists group in North Shoa Menz Lalo district surrendered.” It is the commando regiment of the Defense Force that made the claims. The update from the defense force which is shared on social media attributed the claim to Major Mulugeta Hailemariam.

The number is not specified. However, in a picture shared along with the story 16 individuals (see above) with typical peasants looks seen.
